Master Lock M176XDLHHC M176XDLHCCSEN Die Cast Review

This is a fun lock that can be picked and opened without a combination/key. The lock is easy to pick (even for a novice like me), and the combo lock is shockingly easy to bypass. There are several videos on public sites showing how to do it, just google the Master 176 or its predecessor the Master 175. However the construction is solid and cannot be routed. I wouldn't buy it to protect something valuable. Two stars for entertainment value.

Cons - difficult to use, difficult to program. To open - enter the code and you need to press down. For blocking - you have to enter the wrong code and then close it, otherwise it won't close. Our turf company is difficult to fathom. Advantages - not rusty. Looks weatherproof. Strong. don't eat Looks stylish. Has a spare key in case you forget the code. Best I've ever used, if it was more user friendly I'd buy another.

Could not be opened with the coded key and code that came with the kit. I thought I was setting my own combination and neither MY combination nor the package combination opened that lock. The key worked after you wiggled it a few times, but even the key is weak. This lock is safe. But I don't think I'm going to lock anything with this thing because I'm afraid I'll never get inside. Send back. As a MasterLock brand I am VERY disappointed in this purchase. :(

Very strong industrial strong lock. I bought this for my garage and while I'm sure it will be difficult for someone to clip, it is a lot. The dial is a bit tricky to turn, and to pick the lock you actually have to push your neck into the lock itself (which can help if someone is trying to guess the code, but it's just a bit awkward). After disassembling the packaging to release the latch, I inserted the reset tool into the hole and rotated it 90 degrees while pushing down as directed, and that Tool actually turned me. I don't know why either lock and key or a combination can't be used, but you can't unlock it with a key without setting the combination first, and you can't get a combination set if you can't reset it. Masterlock locks are one of the famous brands, but they still use inferior materials that rust easily. This lock appears to be some type of alloy but it says it's boron carbide, don't know how much stronger it is than stainless steel but looks pretty solid and hopefully rust resistant.
