Save yourself hundreds of repairs!

I had to use diagnostics to troubleshoot a CMP (yes, that's the right word for auto mechanic) delay on my truck. The diagnostic program was Android based so I had to use my bluetooth phone to diagnose and fix my truck. This OBD II BlueTooth device worked perfectly with no hiccups. Connected to my phone instantly with no delay. I used my diagnostic program on my phone and fixed my truck within 1 hour. If I took it to a mechanic, firstly, they probably wouldn't know how to adjust the CMP delayโ€ฆ

Works with the Mygreenvolt app!

I was looking for an OBDII reader to use with the mygreenvolt app and my Chevy Volt 2nd generation (2017). I plugged this very inexpensive Mestart OBDII reader into the Volt's OBDII port located on the LEFT* of the steering wheel, checked my phone for new Bluetooth devices, and thoughtโ€”rightโ€”the one that said "OBDโ€ was the one must be who I was looking for. Currently, most Bluetooth pairing codes are "1 2 3 4" or "0 0 0 0". I tried "1 2 3 4" and it worked. Once it was paired I opened the appโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Some issues

I hooked this up to a Cummins RAM 2500. The truck acted stupid when plugged in. It worked sometimes, but also stopped a couple of times and wouldn't start until this device was removed. In other cases it worked correctly, without any problems while driving. However, if I left it plugged in, the truck's interior lights stayed on the whole time, even when Torque Pro wasn't running. I ordered a larger OBD2 Bluetooth module which was recommended and seems to work without the above issues. I'mโ€ฆ

Works well! Best tools and gear

With 3 of these units plus 2 OBDLink MX units this one works well and has the typical minor issues like all the cheaper ELM327 units. Data processing is a little slow, so inputs like throttle position and RPM sensors have some lag. Basically it's a lie. This was for one of my co-worker's cars so he can control some things on his 4Runner and for the most part it works great for him. Sometimes it disconnects for no reason but reconnects and continues to work. I think it's more because he hasโ€ฆ

Bought for my F250 now using it for my Forester

Works great with Torque Pro to connect to the OBD2 port on my 2003 Subaru Forester. Seconds, faster than the previous bluetooth OBD2 dongle I bought 4 years ago. When I start the car, after a few seconds the stereo appears, and as soon as the interface is visible, the torque is loaded, and in just 2-4 seconds the sensors are energized. In general, starting the engine via Bluetooth takes about 8-10 seconds. (This means the Bluetooth works in 24x7 connection and the Joying Android car radio willโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • Dear

Positive: When used with the Car Doctor App (free inCarDoc), the adapter connects and works perfectly. Document dedicating the entire page to using Torque, it was never paired with it on my Android Note 4. I have used two other OBD2 bluetooth adapters with the same phone and car with no problems. Initially, the adapter did not work at all and had no LEDs. . It took several transplants before it finally worked. When I switched between my working adapter and this one, the other worked every time,

Although incredibly cheap, this is the best.

the thing is a dream. It's small, so you're unlikely to damage it when applying the parking brake. It communicates via Bluetooth and not via WiFi or a serial port. Bluetooth is what you want because it leaves your tablet or phone's Wi-Fi available to connect to the internet at the same time. Documentation on the web is sparse and full of superstitions. My buddy and I tried to get the more expensive "OBD dongle" to work but failed. It turned out to be the WiFi version. The apps seem to implyโ€ฆ
