Great scriber even with the plastic screw

The thing works really fantastically well. If you're in doubt about the plastic screw, don't worry; that works quite well.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Gotchas

Overview of the combination pressure gauge.

Good sensor. The recess for the sliding pin on the plug-in side is a perfect fit so that it does not get jammed. Go straight to the beam and that's great. There is also no slipping when laying out lines. I filed the pins on both sides to cut out the dots for a better cut.

Pros
  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • Doubt

Fast delivery. quality product.

Fast delivery. Quality product and serves its purpose. The only downside is that it's smaller than I imagined. It may be awkward to use for people with large hands. Marker pens are not made of stainless steel and can develop rust if not properly maintained and wiped down.

  • beautiful thing

I was amazed at the apparent quality.

I was pleased that the product was of high quality but on arrival I found the thumbscrew was plastic. Everything else about the product is quality, I don't understand why it wasn't explained in the description because it looks like brass in the photo.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Safety

Difficult to set up

Some points - The tool is difficult to set up as loosening the beam to move the stop also makes it difficult to hold the pin in place to match the width of the bit. Also, the pins are really too long to use - it doesn't matter as the file will trim them down pretty well. I think I'd rather have them too long than too short. Overall quite acceptable, especially for the price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • No automatic

I bought a brass insert and screw to replace the crap that came with it

So when I bought this the picture showed a tortoiseshell thumbscrew. However, when it arrived it had a VERY cheap Mickey Mouse-like plastic thumbscrew with all the manufacturing marks still visible. I ended up buying a brass insert and screw to replace the piece of crap that came with it. Looks much nicer, works great. It worked great with the original plastic screw but looked incredibly cheap. In terms of functionality, everything works perfectly and a good fit between the case and the rail is

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

  • There are problems

Nice little gauge for measuring and marking tools

Nice little gauge, works great. Just thought I would comment because I read some of the negative reviews and was hesitant to buy it. My two concerns were that the screw didn't tighten the sensor enough, causing it to move and causing inaccuracy, and that the plastic screw was poor quality. The screw works well, there were no problems. I found it can be a little tricky to install by holding it up against a ruler, but that's just my bad technique. First mark a piece of wood, then set the sensor…

  • So far satisfied

Good tool except Fisher Price thumbscrew

I've seen old gauges with clear amber thumbscrews so it didn't bother me too much but they actually came in cheap soft plastic. Screw complete with production stitching. Also, no attempt was made to soften the sharp edges of the wood, which would make it awkward to use. Despite this, it has the basic qualities of a good instrument. Although the beam is a bit short it fits snugly against the stop, both are perpendicular to each other, the brass guide holding the second pin fits perfectly - not…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
