🔧 Titan 12034 Quick Change Adapter: Effortlessly Convert 3/8" Drive to 1/4" Hex Drive Review

After just a few months of careful use, this adapter stuck. Despite good lubrication, this item no longer holds bits. It's frustrating when small parts fall all over the place while working on a project. I contacted Titan on their website and of course they never got back to me about the issue. Unfortunately I can't find anything similar, so I might get stuck in the same way as the adapter.

Great idea - great idea! Worked great for a few days. Used to screw the cleats into a chicken coop I'm building, fairly easy job I'd say. I noticed that my torx drive was shorter and a little wobbly. I removed the adapter, the brass bushing fell out. I was able to drive it and work for a while, but not for long. I'll see if they get replaced hoping I only have a butt 🤞🏼.

I had to use two impact wrenches for an underbody installation, I had a trusty old Milwaukee impact wrench and a 3/8 impact wrench. So it was the perfect solution and it worked flawlessly until I had to change the bits. It was well frozen - so firm I had to knock it off. Disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, reassembled and again everything. I have yet to use that 3/8 kick so I'm going to try the Milwaukee version now so stay tuned.

This is a pretty massive adapter, especially considering what it's for. It uses a spring loaded yoke to hold the power bits. It works great if you don't have space constraints, and if you're using a percussion instrument it will probably hold up great. So far it has worked flawlessly for me. Yes, it's built like a tank, it's fat and it takes up a lot of space. But it will probably last longer than all of my power tools. Why is an item that is really necessary so hard to come by? I believe this product solves a problem that many people have in common, but there are few on the market. I've been looking in hardware stores and car dealerships for a long time, but haven't found anything. Too bad this particular Titan product is disappointing.
