Description of 📶 TP-Link Deco S4 - Powerful Mesh WiFi System for Enhanced Home Coverage - 3-Pack

A New Way to WiFi: Deco Mesh technology gives you a better WiFi experience in all directions with faster WiFi speeds and strong WiFi signal to cover your whole home. Bettern Coverage than traditional WiFi routers: Deco S4 three units work seamlessly to create a WiFi mesh network that can cover homes up to 5, 500 square feet. No dead zone anymore. Seamless and Stable WiFi Mesh: Rather than wifi range extender that need multiple network names and passwords, Deco S4 allows you to enjoy seamless roaming throughout the house, with a single network name and password. Incredibly fast AC1200 speeds makes the deco capable of providing connectivity for up to 100 devices. With advanced Deco Mesh Technology, units work together to form a unified network with a single network name. Setup is a breeze with the Deco app available on your Android or iOS device. Turn on or off guest WiFi with Alexa voice commands. Each Deco S4 has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports(6 in total for a 3-pack) and supports Wired Ethernet Backhaul for better speeds. Any of them can work as a Wi-Fi Router. Use of the product requires disclosure of user data

Please read the privacy statement in the manual before purchasing. You can only install the device if you agree to the manufacturer's privacy policy. The policy includes automatic downloads of user data, including internet usage and more. Why not just let the customer use the product without providing the manufacturer with usage data? I didn't install it and sent it back. I will look for another router.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Low maintainability

It's not secure at all and there's no way to do it that way.

I bought this item assuming I don't need to use the app and subscribe to TP-Link cloud and just use the web interface like any other router and hotspot in the world can use. . nope There is no option to subscribe to their app and cloud BS and the web interface is a joke. It's little more than a status indicator. This might sound hateful, but I'm an IT professional, so I'm always worried about the security of my network at home, and this cloud service is probably located in China, which means…

great WiFi coverage, easy to install and use

We moved during the pandemic and suddenly had to accommodate 4 children and 2 adults who need internet access at the same time. We had about 30 connected devices. We replaced our router/cable modem/Wi-Fi combo with a standalone Arris Surfboard dedicated cable modem and used the product to create a mesh Wi-Fi network throughout the house. with WiFi. Once installed, it now works seamlessly across our 3 floors and loft in our nearly 8,000 square foot home. even in the yard. I expected it to last…

Very fast with great coverage and smooth operation

I had a Revain eero three point mesh router that kept giving me "connected, no internet" issues because I find that the router often has no IP address assigned to the connected device. Happens with IOS, Mac OS and Windows. It also won't connect to certain IoT devices like my Ring Doorbell or webcam - maybe because those devices only work at 2.4GHz - but eero has both 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks, so it doesn't sure what the problem was (from searching the web, I know I wasn't the only one having…

Update January 2021👍🤩 Systems are still working great. However, the WiFi status indicator on the Deco is pointing up towards the ceiling. And because it's high on the cabinet, I can't see the status indicator. Also, I don't like that it dangles and slides around the closet which is regularly moved for cleaning. So I mounted it horizontally to the wall using a basic 3.5" wide angle bracket from Home Depot and ZIP cable ties. see my photos. I wrapped white tape around the metal corner to avoid…

Should have gotten them a long time ago

For a while I used the wifi router to cover my whole house but due to the placement (the stone fireplace next to it and in the path) it couldn't do too well, to cover the whole house and I had to use a TP-Link extension with it. The extension worked well but the combination only covered 2/3 of the house. After a lot of research I finally narrowed it down to TP-Link Deco and one or two others (including Google's Grid system). As I trust Google with my privacy only slightly more than Facebook…

Finally Wi-Fi that doesn't feel compromised

I have the Verizon FIOS bundle service, so I have TV, phone and internet in one device. While I love FIOS, one of the downsides is that I had to use their bonded modem/router gateway for my TV and phone services. My house has a wired Ethernet network running through it, which is great for all my desktop PC and home theater setups, but the FIOS gateway router's Wi-Fi performance doesn't cover my three-story house well enough (the FIOS modem is in my garage, next to my wired home network box).
