Description of VViViD Air Tint - Easy Release for Headlight and Taillight Enhancement

VVIVID Air-Tints are an industry first: a headlight/taillight tint with all of the technologies developed in VVIVID+ premium materials. They include an air-release membrane which allows you to install the tint dry ( without installation liquid ) Ready to use out of the box!. This is the only film on the market that can wrap ANY SHAPE. It is super conformable with heat. It was originally manufactured for hard-to-wrap surfaces, but the ease of install has professionals saving time on any headlight shape. This film is also self healing and scratches will go away with heat! Simply cut the vinyl to shape, and apply it to the surface. To make the vinyl conform to curves, simply heat with a heat gun or hair dryer, stretch and apply. Lastly, using a sharp blade, trim away excess from the headlight and you're done! its literally that simple!. Made with automotive grade cast vinyl, these tints are 80% tinted smoke or 20% VLT. The adhesive is acrylic based which will not eat through plastic like other tints on the market. It is 100% chemical safe, and will not eat through headlight coatings or damage your lights. NOTE: MAKE SURE TO MEASURE YOUR HEADLIGHT TINTS - THIS PRE-CUT SHEET IS 1.49ft x 60".

Only suitable for flat lights without protrusions.

Based on reviews and YouTube videos I thought this thing would be perfect for getting that ugly red off my truck's taillights. While it's touted as a professional solution for taillight tinting even on tricky headlights, it didn't really help in my case. I spent hours slowly and literally painfully heating, stretching, and pressing on this material, only for it to pile up on the final edges and begin to separate and flake. A professional cannot use this material in my lights and the company…

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Seems to be of great quality and easy to work with

They are dark but don't fully darken in the sun which is nice when driving around with cops. I installed this on my Genesis Coupe taillights. If you have LED taillights, the brake lights will light up day and night with no problem. I can't speak for ordinary bulbs, but I suspect there won't be any light output issues. Very easy to assemble, even with extreme curves. Simply heat the vinyl where it meets the curve and stretch just enough to hug it. Try to "glaze" as you stretch, but don't overdo…

  • Best in its niche

Don't waste money.

Well my first impression of the vinyl was favorable because it felt really thick and strong. But that's where the "pluses" end. If your headlights/taillights have a contour or curve, forget it. I've applied dozens of decals and tinted cars over the years and I'd like to believe I have a science. I even have a 'kit' at my house that includes all the necessary items to apply (alcohol, squeegees, razor blades, etc.) - so I wasn't at all nervous about carrying this thing. But I was wrong. So wrong.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Good but not great

Amazing material, suitable for light covers

It was easy to install on my 2002 Mustang. I'm not a pro at this but I've done it a few times and this slide is a great product. Heat it up, a felt squeegee is a must or you'll erase every shadow to hell. This vinyl is thicker than most, so it takes a little more patience than window tinting. heat is your friend Do not attempt this in cold weather. Those are all the lessons I learned from doing it myself. Therefore, in this review, I also share information that I hope will help you avoid…
