My review about Taurion

Today i want to share you my experience with the blockchain based game "Taurion".
ο»Ώ
I follow the Xaya project since their beginning and also own some CHI tokens. Taurion is based on the Xaya blockchain, so of course i had to test this game.
ο»Ώ
I only tried blockchain games without a real graphical interface so far (only games like managers, i call them "menu clicking and wait games"), so i was hyped to see how a strategical real time game will work on blockchain.
ο»Ώ
I downloaded the game and saw that there was an event. So i received some tanks at the start for free. I started with my 5 tanks on a very bare landscape and began to move them around. I noticed that i had to scan the ground to claim a ground as my territory. Unfortunately i started where everyone else started, so whole landscape around my was already claimed. So i started to move my tanks to an area with unclaimed ground several miles away.
You every few meters you move, you need to wait for a block on the chain, so it takes several hours until i arrived on unclaimed ground. I wasn't able to do anything during this time.
ο»Ώ
On the next day i spend a lot of time with claiming ground to get territory. You get rewarded, so this was the first time the game was fun.
Then took a look on the temperature display on my PC and got really scared because it was so higher than on other high end games like Witcher 3. I checked my CPU workload and realized that this game needs more CPU power than any other game i played before.
ο»Ώ
Unfortunately i decided to give the game some more time to develop, fun is still too low, cpu usage too high.

Pros
  • Great to see a blockchain game with a graphic engine.
  • Game worked fine without any crashes or bugs.
Cons
  • Unfortunately its very boring :D
  • It definitely need more features.
  • Like most other blockchain games, its pay to win.
  • You need to wait for every block on the blockchain to move your vehicles. Because of the huge (and also very bare) landscape you need wait forever until you reach your destination.
  • It needs so much CPU power, more than any high quality games.
