Great concept, walls can't withstand vibration

On my first try the saw did a little damage on the outside, enough for me to stop and go back to 2" general purpose blades and razors. Then I had to putty and repaint. I blamed the damage on the wall, which was covered with a protective layer that couldn't withstand the vibrations. The next time I used it it was on a painted wall. I even cut out the first 1/8 inch with a cutter. This time the vibration shattered the back of the wall panel and caused lateral cracks on the front. Here, too, theโ€ฆ

Pretty handy tool for mechanical and hand tools

I've used it about a dozen times. Works well on drywall, not so much on wood. Haven't tried it on 1/8" wood panels but will try as soon as possible. Makes a perfect hole for old blue (or push-in) Carlon boxes, but some other brands are slightly smaller and don't fit exactly .Maybe I'm a little picky but this thing creates a lot of drywall dust and due to the back and forth motion of the tool it spreads out more than just a hole saw.I do a lot of small jobs that put a plug in here, me try toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good product, but beware!

I ordered this product as I was remodeling my media room and needed to cut some holes in the low voltage boxes for speaker wire. DOES THE PRODUCT WORK? Yes it works as described and cuts the holes very cleanly. As others have noted, I've used it to cut holes in drywall, so can't speak to paneling. As always when using an oscillating tool, don't apply too much pressure, just let the tool do its job. You have to use the tool for the initial drilling, but after that it cuts the perfect holeโ€ฆ

  • Good product for the price

Cuts a square hole just right.

Good: Cuts the square correctly and in a hurry. Definitely worth it. Value: The item is expensive for what it is. I mean it's not impossible to cut a hole and I think the average user who doesn't need it every day should be able to buy it without breaking the bank for what it is, it's a lot higher in In terms of profit margin, because they're hitting the market by making it a special tool, because most people just don't pay for it, they buy a bunch of hacksaws and they're done with it. Possible

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some problems

Great tool but be careful around drywall edges and old work.

This tool performs exactly as you'd expect, cutting nice holes in drywall. It tends to run a bit at first, which you can compensate for as you get used to how it works. I have found two situations where you need to be extremely careful when using this saw. Of course you have to be careful not to hit anything from the back when you're cutting the old working drywall, but if you're cutting, say, two holes on opposite sides of the stud, one for power and one for low voltage, you have to beโ€ฆ
