It works as described but is not easy to set up :-(

**Installation instructions were very sketchy -- but I finally found a file (manual) that describes how to do it and everything is works fine and my data transfer/connection over my WIFI has improved to great **Please note this is a wired connection to the router which uses your network THROUGH the adapter to send internet signals over AC power lines to other devices on the network** This product is not intended for non-technical professionals who are inexperienced with networking products.Iโ€ฆ

Works out of the box but beware of outdated software

This product works as advertised and has increased the throughput of my electrical network, but I have encountered three major drawbacks. 1) The sync feature just doesn't work. Following the instructions will result in loss of communication between the modules. Factory reset fixes the problem, but you are stuck with the default security password. 2) I was thinking of downloading the latest version of the Powerline utility from the TrendNet website, but Malwarebytes advises that the website mayโ€ฆ

YOU MUST BUY TWO FOR THIS TO WORK

THIS PRODUCT WAS DECEIVED BECAUSE IT DID NOT STATE THAT IT NEEDED TO BE SET UP FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS. YOU NEED ONE TO CONNECT TO YOUR ROUTER AND THE OTHER TO CONNECT WIRELESSLY. THIS WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO START AND NOW I HAVE CLOSED THIS TOTALLY USELESS!

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Works best with Netgear in Computer & Accessories

Works exactly as intended and also pairs with Netgear powerlines. I wanted to buy a powerline adapter from Netgear but they only sell them in packs so I decided to take a chance and buy this one instead. Both adapters behave the same in terms of their connection and usage, so I had no trouble adding this adapter to my powerline network.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • confusing

Easy to use and set up.

. It is easy to install and use. Just plug it into an outlet. The included management software is used to download firmware updates for devices installed in your home. You don't need to download any software on your PC to use the devices. The software needs to be updated by the manufacturer to use Npcap instead of Winpcap. Winpcap is obsolete and no longer maintained by the developer.

Pros
  • Improved MIMO powerline performance and range with beamforming technology. Also equipped with a line noise filter to minimize interference from powered devices

Works out of the box but beware of legacy software

Carefully! Problems with connection and synchronization!

Originally purchased two TPL422E units. Many hours later I was able to sync them NOT by following the instructions but by trial and error using the sync buttons. Bought a third 422E for another room; can't sync it with the other two. I called tech support: Despite her best efforts and mine, the woman was hard to understand. She showed me solutions that I could not implement. I remember reading that the SWITCH PANEL SIDE can affect its timing. I will not change the panel. I will return the third

Pros
  • Integrated power outlet and high-speed gigabit connection
