Heavy duty good for me

I have had two of these on my Limo for over 2 years now. The car gets parked sometimes for days and the batteries kept getting drained. These switches solved the problem. Best heavy duty ones I have found on amazon.

Pros
  • ‎WirthCo
Cons
  • Can accidentally trigger if bumped or touched

Scary Tightening - my new review

The material is cheap, when tightening it on the battery post, you have to be careful not to bend the jaws to much or they will crack and break.

Pros
  • Works great in our RV
Cons
  • May require frequent maintenance

50/50. "NOT FOR MARINE USE "

Seems well made. Packaging states "not for Marine use". Well that's exactly what I ordered it for. I wanted to put it on the negative side of my trolling motor battery for disconnect while towing.

Pros
  • The Battery Doctor 20108 Battery Disconnect Knife Switch is a reliable and high-quality product made in the USA
Cons
  • Potential liability if not installed correctly

This thing works, works well, and requires no .

This thing works, works well, and requires no adapters or tools besides the ability to take one of the cables off your car battery. The "Adapter" type of installation is the high point of this thing. It also didn't scare away the Advance Auto guy who was telling me how he won't install batteries if anything about my terminals or cables is customized. This was so "Stock" looking that he didn't complain.I bought this because I had a voltage leak somewhere, and it helped me…

Pros
  • Not very heavy duty
Cons
  • Can potentially damage battery cables during installation

works as advertised

Remember to place this on the negative post. The only fault is that the screw to add the negative cable will back out when loosening or taking the negative cable off.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Requires knowledge of car mechanics and electrical systems

Stopped my battery drain

The knife switch works well on my V8 with no apparent strain on the starter. I gave it 4 starts because the plastic piece tying the bronze parts together is a bit flimsy. A fiberglass plate piece to replace the plastic plate would be a much stronger design and more stable and I would be willing to pay a bit more for a better product. The bronze parts and copper (coated?) switch knife are top quality. I treat it gently because it feels fragile and so far it is working good though I do carry a…

Pros
  • ‎Switch, Batteries, Knife
Cons
  • Can potentially cause a short circuit if not installed properly

This is exactly what I needed. It works fine. I used it to stop a parasitic battery leak. It seems sturdy enough. The switch is pretty stiff at first, but I'm sure will smooth out in time. Installation couldn't be easier. Loosen two nuts, tighten two nuts, voila!.

Pros
  • ‎20108
Cons
  • Provides no protection against other forms of battery damage

I purchased and wasted my Money on many other types of Battery Disconnect switches but none worked on my Dual Battery equipped 2012 Silverado 3500HD. General Motors did not provide any space around Battery terminals that would accept any other cut-off switch only their own supplied terminal assembly. I was able to modify the Wirthco 20108 Knife-Blade T-4 Battery Disconnect Switches to overcome this space problem. One I installed on the drivers side in a horizontal switch actuation plane, the…

Pros
  • With its simple and intuitive design, the knife switch allows you to quickly and easily turn off the power to your battery whenever necessary, minimizing the risk of accidental discharge and damage to your vehicle's electrical system
Cons
  • Can be damaged by excessive use
