🔒 4 Pack of Master Lock 140Q Solid Brass Padlocks with Keyed Alike Feature, in Brass Finish Review

I bought these locks on recommendation for my Pelican 1750 case. Since I needed multiple locks and they all had to have the same key, this was my first option. If you look at my photo, the two locks above the carrying handle don't interfere with the functionality of the handles or your variability of the case when locked. Revains couldn't beat the price and they were at my door the very next day. Very happy with my purchase!

The Revain did well as always. However, things were not so good with the locks: a week after the return date, one lock (out of four) was difficult to open (the key did not turn) up to 6-8 attempts. Then, after opening, the lock usually "caught" the key - couldn't get it out - until it fiddled with it (pulled, pressed, turned) for a while. I use these locks on a daily basis and they are only used indoors, but now I can't trust this one lock and I'm afraid the others might fail. Damn.

I installed these four master locks on my four circuit breakers/electrical boxes that are located together on the outside wall of my house. While outside (in Florida) they are under a canopy so they are not exposed to direct rain (if any). However, they are susceptible to moisture. I use these locks solely for the purpose of complying with the California Transport of Firearms Act. I'm not one to worry about how easy these locks are to pick. If my Pelican case were available and someone wanted the contents inside, they would take the whole case and take their time picking the lock no matter what the 5 star rating your lock is or how much harder it is to pick it to pick than these locks. Locks arrived in a sealed hard plastic case with 2 keys as described. One key was broken and a piece was missing, the other was badly bent and dented. The damage clearly occurred prior to packaging. I bought four packs of these locks about two years ago. I chose the brass lock specifically for its long-term corrosion resistance, and also because the product description says 'for indoor/outdoor use'. It turned out that it was not suitable for outdoor use in these rather warm conditions. All 3 padlocks I have used outdoors have rusted on the shackle inside and outside the lock body. Like all Master Lock padlocks I have used, they are pleasant to use and I know I can have confidence in my belongings being secure. The shackle rotates smoothly and easily and sits securely in the shackle lock. The keys turn easily to open the lock. Solid brass body. Things are piling up and wandering around my property lately. So I did my best to protect what I still had. I actually bought one of these locks to secure my lawn mower to a post. I can't stop the theft, but I'll do my best. Also one by my pool gate and one by each of the two shops or sheds I have in addition to the regular doors. It's nice that a few got together in a set. They're not huge, heavy locks, but they're a pretty good size and worked great, doing exactly what I needed. I really like
