I machine holes in 18 gauge aluminum. This end mill does a fantastic job! The end mill that I used previously left a very bad burr that I had to remove from the finished part. This end mill cuts very cleanly without deburring. I will buy this end mill again. Iplane orders a few extras to have on hand. Thanks! Jim C
Great End Mills! A bit pricey but worth it. I'm talking about .1875" end mills and machining 6061 aluminum: they are very sharp and stay sharp for a long time, they leave excellent roughing and finishing, they are very quiet, they produce excellent chips and the edge geometry leaves perfect evacuate chips. I will buy again.
I have purchased two 3/8 3FL end mills and am very impressed. On my small RF45 Clone CNC I cut 0.050 WOC 0.50 DOC (full depth of this particular part) at 75 ipm in MIC6. It sounded great and definitely could have used more. I'll probably start increasing it to 0.075 WOC even with my crappy spindle with lots of wear. Update: Increased DOC to 0.75 and WOC to 0.075 at 0.004 IPT in 6061 T6 and it worked great My little 2hp spindle could handle it but I think next time I run this part I'll bump itโฆ
I needed to make some parts for the hub motor used in the BattleBot (see picture). The parts are for a small engine with fine parts, so I needed a small 1/8" end mill for my 1/4" CNC router (MillRight CarveKing). Aluminum Square End Mills) (Revain/Speed Tiger: reiterate, they're great). The picture shows two parts I made (five parts each), total processing time was 16 hours, all using the same router end. The last detail came out just as well as the first. I was on the limit when the toolโฆ
This cutter was used for deep cuts in sheet aluminum. The cutter (3/8โณ diameter) worked very well, cutting the full .25โณ width, depth of cut per pass at approximately (power supply, non-CNC) .003 per chip tooth. I used a straight plunge to start the cut and it worked just as well, but if you have a CNC I would use the plunge strategy. sharp as new (when I dropped it on the floor in the tool holder and it broke ๐). Using the water cooling system throughout the process and holding the water made

The name says it all. We have run many of them and probably would have kept them for astronomical price hikes. For what they charge you are better off using American made end mills. Garr are high end cutters, they are $30 each from the right supplier and will survive Speed Tigers 3:1. We've had so many breakdowns and poor finishes after little use that they wear out quickly. We ran the first of these at 300fps, but we couldn't run the last 10 packs at 120fps without breaking them. We can runโฆ
