Still unreliable

This is about SNZB-04 Good: I was able to pair this with a 4th Gen Echo without using a Sonoff Zigbee hub and triggering process Bad: No battery is supplied and the Battery holder is very flexible and will not hold the connection without bending it. I can also run routines, but after <1 day the status in Alexa stops updating, although I can see the LED on the sensor changing status. After it stops responding, the only way I can turn it back on is to remove the device from Alexa and reconnect

Mediocre build quality and no battery.

Product comes with battery (and instructions include removing the insulating sheet for first use). Imagine my surprise when the product arrived without a battery. When you finally receive the battery, please note that this is indeed an uncommon coin. 2450 instead of the more common 2032 or 2016 cells. This battery is HUGE, which probably also means battery life is pretty poor. In addition, the product is simply "good". There are better switches from other manufacturers that are more tactile to…

Poor workmanship good for home automation devices

To be honest, I'm one of those people who usually only send feedback when there's a problem. In this case I ordered three Sonoff SNZB-02 and found that two of them were defective/unusable. Everything was fine with the first. I wired it up, plugged it into the humidor, fiddled with the controls. No problem. However, the next two buttons were already fully depressed and didn't appear. I looked into the devices and found that the switch is not making contact with the button. I tried bending the…

Functional with limitations

I bought two of these sensors to use as garage door sensors. Initially the description stated that the battery was included, but upon receipt the box clearly states that the battery is not included. Luckily I had a few extra 2132 batteries. Second, the case isn't that easy to open. He feels fragile. Hopefully the battery will last for years, and maybe then there will be Zigbee sensors at a bargain price. Third, they connected to my Hubitat hub right away and are working as advertised. Fourth…

Works flawlessly with Home Assistant

It's hard to find home automation devices that work with Home Assistant. A friend recommended Sonoff and their Zigbee device just works. I bought a few of these in different styles (temp, movement, etc.). I'm sad that Sonoff is moving towards Wi-Fi. I really hope they stay "open" and compatible. Big competitors are bad news. If I wanted to stick with one brand, I would choose Google or Revain and they would sell my data. But I especially want to tinker with Homeassistant and build whatever I…

Paired with Smartthings

Ordered model SNZB02 for temperature and humidity control. My plan was to pair it with Smartthings and it worked. The sensor sometimes turns itself off when I open it in the app, but it still calls at least once an hour. For my application I find that acceptable. I placed the sensor on top of my thermostat and it showed accurate readings. A few details about the Smartthings integration: - I used the new Smartthings app as the old app no longer exists. - I used the eZEX Temp & Humidity Sensor…

Easy install on Smartthings

Received and installed the sensor tonight. Installing and integrating the sensor with Smartthings took 5 minutes. I don't know why Sonoff isn't marketed as compatible with Smartthings yet, but I found a forum that says they released the integration in August 2021 and it definitely works. Just click on "Add Device" and select Sonoff as the manufacturer and then select "Multipurpose Sensor". I had to add it twice. The first time it went out after about 1 minute. Seems stable the second time…

Costs money! for hubs and controllers

Okay, I don't usually write reviews, but I want potential buyers to know that this product actually works. Two things to note: 1) When you insert the battery into the device, you won't see the LED light up automatically like other products. It lights up when you set pairing mode by pressing and holding Reset for about 5 seconds. 2) For smartthings users you need to add a device handler so the hub can detect it as is. If you can overcome those two things, then you should be happy with that. I…

Works well: Hubs and Controllers

My garage has a door from the house and a door from the outside (next to the two car doors) and there is only one light switch. I also have a habit of leaving the lights on. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy some of these motion sensors and replace the light switch with a Z-Wave switch. I have a multi node Hubitat Elevation system at home and now it works VERY well in my main garage. I installed two of these sensors in my garage, one on the ceiling about 5 feet from where the front doors…
