Not OEM for PS3. Non-rechargeable

Great looks and very durable controller. I can't start PS3 like with a normal controller. Must start PS3 manually on the base. Uses 2 AA batteries instead of the charging cable. It also turns off if not used after about 2 minutes, but startup is almost instantaneous and works straight away. A mini USB stick is used to connect to the PS3. If you can live with those 1st world issues, this is a good controller.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Useless features

Great replacement controller

Works great with my PS3, I changed the batteries in the Sony controller and made a bit of a mess when closing the case, these batteries are hard to replace at Sony. I put new batteries in the Afterglow and started it up, it feels great and works great. This device does not start the play station, but that is not a problem, I know how to press the button. I would recommend this controller to anyone looking for an additional PS3 controller. does not work with ps4

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Don't do this for accessories

Unfortunately I didn't listen to the mostly negative reviews about this controller. I really wanted it for my son because it looks so cool. Unfortunately this controller is junk. It worked for the first day, and then it started disconnecting from the console spontaneously. The controller kept blinking (like trying to connect) for 5-10 minutes before I finally had to turn off the wireless part that connects to the console. The controller then rebooted and the process repeated about every 20…

Permanently detachable, unusable

I really liked this controller, it looks cool, it's wireless and the analog triggers are great for racing games. After about 30 minutes of use, it would disconnect from its wireless base a few times a minute. At first I thought I was just sitting too far away, so I sat right next to my PS3, not even a meter away. Still had the same issue when the controller wasn't pointed directly at the PS3 or when you were on your lap it would disconnect. Completely useless. I don't know if I have a faulty…

Doesn't work, don't buy.

Check all the negative reviews first, my mistake was not doing it. The controller itself is fine, good buttons and triggers, joysticks aren't very precise but they get the job done. All of this applies when you're actually using it with a PS3, but the fact of the matter is that 80% of the time it will disconnect, like any move you want to make. This has nothing to do with the PS3 system, the connection between the USB dongle and the controller is so weak that you cannot play as you should…

Short lifespan, poor quality

I really wanted to like this afterglow controller. It looked cool with a transparent body and blue backlight. But it just didn't last long. The first one I bought (Walmart) got stuck in my games after I plugged it in. That's never happened, ever. Then it broke after 6 months of use. Luckily Wal gave me a full refund and I tried my luck at Revain. The biggest problems with this second controller: - The controller does not turn on the PS3 console when you press the PS3 button. Very annoying.…

Nice controller but only works with PS3 games *not* PS2!

I really like this controller. It doesn't feel cheap like some third-party aftermarket controllers. The blue LED function can be turned off by pressing the button on the back. The controller is powered by 2 AA batteries; I use a couple of rechargeable batteries that I rotate and get around 8+ hours of playtime on a full charge. Please note that this controller cannot be used to "turn on" the PS3 like the original SONY controller, but it can be used to turn off the system. Also, and this issue…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

I like this controller. Bought because it was cheap and wanted something with LEDs to match my computer. I had doubts about that, but now I have no more doubts. What can be used for polishing is a guide. It's a bit sparse in terms of instructions, meaning flashing red light etc. Also, this controller can't turn the vibration on or off. It is on by default and always on. I've been trying for a while and couldn't turn off the vibration. Despite these doubts, it is reliable for PC use and feels…
