3-dimensional edge finder locates in X,Y and Z axis. Measure work piece dimensions;Replaceable probes for maximum flexibility. 1 Short Probe Tip Included w/ Sensor. Measure surface flatness. No subtracting indicator tip diameter = NO MATH!.
Zeroes the spindle much easier than other edge finders. The 3/4 inch shank is also very handy (not metric). I used it to attach my vise to the spindle and then checked the toolpath with the specified (new) vise. I can now set this value (or 0) and run through a vise to check one end and pull across. The same goes for checking the other axis of the vise relative to the spindle. Easier/faster setup without having to calculate edge finder values for spindle center Interpretation errors when you…
I think it's SUPER! In practice, it leaves much to be desired. I started calibrating the center but the set screws were too tight to turn. When I called Haimer I was told that they usually come from the factory with an overtightened bolt on the end of the shaft. I took her advice and loosened the bolt and then re-torqued it to her spec. I was animated when it initially looked like it would fix the issues. After recalibration everything worked. After a few uses I noticed that my toolpath was not

Dimensional part measurement; Interchangeable styli for maximum flexibility
Very good tool, but without English instructions. Written by a person whose native language is not English, therefore idioms and words do not translate well. Also, the runout zeroing instructions almost certainly leave out that you must loosen the socket head cap screw (SCS) in the shank just enough for the four opposing screws to bring the eccentricity ("concentricity") of the head to zero (DO NOT EXCEED TORQUE) . . (I had to call the factory to make sure I didn't damage the unit). According…
