Broken computers and accessories

Worked great for a while, then stopped working after a few weeks. Turns off randomly. Sent it back to Sonnet (they made me pay for return shipping) they said it was defective and needed to be replaced with a new unit but had no idea when they would have a replacement unit for me. Maybe 3-5 weeks. So I'm waiting 3-5 weeks in the cold until they PERHAPS have a replacement. Based on other reviews, there is something wrong with this card, so I would stay away from it.

Not currently compatible with Mac 10.13.6

I ordered a card and received it for appreciation. After working for a few hours, it wouldn't turn on and wouldn't turn on again. After troubleshooting, I found that the card status lights worked as long as the Mac was not connected to the Thunderbolt expansion chassis. I ordered a replacement card and it was a little easier to set up than the first one. I realized something was really wrong with the first card, but it ended up suffering the same fate. I would not recommend this card if you are

Excellent way to add 10GB copper ethernet to any computer

I already have a network of multiple computers with 1GB ethernet built in. However, when I write and move files to my media server, they can usually be over 10GB in size, so it took more than a few minutes. With 10GB ethernet, I can transfer data at any slowest drive speed (my main computer comes with NVMe drives, so RAID5 on my server is the new bottleneck at around 500MB per second, but that's over 5x faster than me). I have two cards specifically for connecting my main computer to a media…

10/5/2.5GbE on Mac no problem

This card is the exact equivalent of the Aquantia AQN-107 standard card but with Mac compatible firmware. It works as expected when connected to my CAT5E network at speeds negotiated at 5Gbps in my case. Everything was plug and play. For Windows/Linux PC it's cheaper to just buy an AQN-107 card, for example if you want to put it in the Thunderbolt Enclosure for Mac, don't worry about the firmware/driver rollups of other cards, these ones map is just right for you .

  • Easy to use

Does not work well

Works well when installed and used for the first time. But after a week it stopped working. So I didn't use it. I installed it again. It worked. But it only lasted a day or two. I requested an exchange and received an email to contact the RMA department. I have sent an email to the RMA but have not received any further contact. Shouldn't you tell me if you can exchange or not? There is no contact. I had to cancel and exchange the connection. I live in Korea and I don't speak English well…

Despite other reviews it's great

The only reason I give this 4 stars is that it's a little tricky to install properly with some hard to find drivers. It's very picky, but if you install it properly, it will work and work fine. I think the reviewers aren't installing it correctly, there is a very specific installation process. It also depends on your operating system and the devices at the other end of the 10G line, not to mention the type of cable used. I used this on my PC to connect to a Mac Pro and another PC and it ran…

Two of them no longer worked

I bought two of these cards. Both stopped working after a few weeks. They seem to have worked long enough not to be subject to Revain's return policy. Look elsewhere for 10GB. Note. I bought this for Mac compatibility and it worked with Mojave for a while. But as I said, both cards failed after about 6 weeks. Can it be a heating problem?
