It will absolutely not charge a 2016 or 2017 Macbook.

This won't tax a 2016 or 2017 15" Macbook Pro at all. Computers show battery status as "Battery not charging". Don't get a Macbook Pro!

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Speed

Interference when connecting more than 2 USB devices

I mostly use all ports on this adapter and when 3 USB devices are connected, the devices disconnect randomly. Terrible product, if you plan to use three USB devices at the same time you will have problems with this.

iPad not getting power

Due to the design of this device, it cannot provide power and data to iPad at the same time. Because the iPad has only one connector, you must use that connector for both power and data. This device can be powered by a laptop, but not an iPad. If you connect an external power source to this device's USB-C jack, this device (along with data from the Ethernet port) will be powered and sent to the iPad via USB-C, but it will NOT be powering the iPad Device was designed by for a computer that is…

Great little device to connect your Type-C device to a landline

if you want to landline your next-gen laptop. I would recommend this device. This particular device requires no additional power supply. It occupies a Type-C port and you cannot use it for other purposes such as B. to connect a hard drive. You cannot use this device to transfer a device image over a network. The speed is a bit slower than a true gigabit, but I assume it's because you're using an adapter. To be honest, it's not that big of a difference where you can tell. Overall, this is a…

Almost perfectly fits my 2017 MacBook

Product code US1GC303APD = 3 USB + Ethernet + USB PD ports with VIA/VLI chip + Realtek Advantages: ► Charges my MacBook with Apple USB-C power supply 29 Watt ► charges my iPhone when connected to the internet ► no drivers required ► cold/warm (not hot) ► cable management (one side goes to MacBook, one side goes to peripherals) ► compact size Cons: ► don't forget to disable USB Drive before disconnecting USB PD as everything is disconnected and immediately reconnected when the power source is…

Good product! on network products

That's it. this is a great product! Why? Because it's as good as it gets. Open the box and take out the StarTech adapter. Connect ethernet to adapter, connect adapter to laptop. lol sorry but if the product i am reviewing works so well and makes my life easier. I'm a little dizzy. Performance - Great! …. I had/have a very good WiFi connection and my Dell was very fast with WiFi. For the most part, there are no real complaints, but there is no doubt about it. Now it's even better Wired is the…

Good for single port USB-C devices

This is a good power adapter that adds power at a reasonable price. Well-suited for laptops and tablets with a single USB-C port, it charges your device while providing Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It appears to deliver a maximum output of 60W, making it best suited for ultrabooks and tablets. It will most likely not deliver enough power for larger devices, which often require 85W or more. In my experience, these devices drain the battery or run slower depending on how the manufacturer…

Works better than the generic

My review is for a single ethernet port power pass-through model. a Dell XPS laptop that only connects to USB-C/Tunderbolt 3 ports. I have a HooToo brand shuttle that has USB, HDMI, Ethernet and power pass-through in one device. The problem with HooToo is that when I try to use it to transfer power, the laptop loses power by 5 watts and I get a warning that I've connected an underpowered power supply. In addition, the included Ethernet was not recognized by the laptop. So I ordered this…
