Type of review

This is a very serious project that aims to build a blockchain on a foundation of peer review, and academic research. If you'd like to learn more, you can find a wealth of information at the Cardano Hub, or feel free to review the code.

Pros
  • Cardano\ADA will have cross chain atomic swaps between other crypto currencies like Litecoin and others are implementing. This will allow for decentralized exchanges and the ultimate in flexibility and interchangeability.
Cons
  • Job-security. Core components of Cardano itself is written in insanely rigorous way in Haskell with some additional stuff (like dependent types). It's one of the reasons why the community loves the project, myself included. But my concern is that it's gonna greatly restrict the amount of people that could support and extend the platform in the feature. It is very cool to have teams like Serokell, who knows the insides of the platform so they can participate in it's further development (thru treasury), but I reckon that entry-level for a developer to try and change even a slightest bit is hella high. It's quite possible that this is actually one of the reasons for them to develop it this way, so no shitcoders would be too confident to mess with it. But it also kinda

This is the most documented blockchain project around.... With serious team .... Far better than copycats, forks, etc traded for 1$-500$ each, that only serve pump & dump schemes. No standard qt wallet (standard qt wallet = no serious dev team) They have weekly project status reports, and a transparency report regarding the ICO. If someone sees it, realizes that there is no centralization of funds (coins are quite well distributed - no wallets containing big amounts etc). Not to mention the…

Pros
  • Cardano This software system stack is versatile and scalable , developed with the foremost rigorous educational and industrial software system standards.
Cons
  • The project cought my attention, one thing I would like to know is, if it's POS coin, can we stake it, and will there be masternodes, if yes, how many cois for a node?

I definitely like Cardano and it seems to be one of the most intriguing projects, because it is one of the only projects actually supported by research at the highest level. At the moment, investors have no interest, but many understand that now is a good time to buy.

Pros
  • The Cardano project may be a next generation blockchain, making a brand new localized economy, and democratising finance in rising markets. It addresses the necessity for restrictive oversight while maintaining client privacy and protections through an innovative superimposed design.
Cons
  • Their team is packed with academicians and scholars. Anyone remember Long-Term Capital Management?

I definitely like Cardano and it seems to be one of the most intriguing projects, because it is one of the only projects actually supported by research at the highest level. At the moment, investors have no interest, but many understand that now is a good time to buy.

Pros
  • Cardano\ADA has a multi layered protocol approach that has smart contracts much like Ethereum, but implemented in another layer so that it will scale well beyond what Ethereum is capable of.
Cons
  • Mostly what you'll find is worries about POS vs POW and questions if Cardano is going too slow in the name of academia and trying to be too precise in their protocol.

This project is a huge one and I repeat it's a project I want to be part of, because I see their future and it is great.

Pros
  • I have traded ADA on binance and made huge profit on it during bull run of December 2017. Am particularly excited with the team and the way they conduct themselves with support tickets. Their Telegram channel is always bubbling with exciting news and the members there make things more homely on the Telegram chat by spicing up conversations. I think this is a project I love to be part of at long term.
Cons
  • Their email support system is extremely slow. When sending support emails and enquiry they intend to take days compared to what is obtainable on their telegram. This is quite sad when one needs urgent attention on pressing issues

I definitely like Cardano and it seems to be one of the most intriguing projects, because it is one of the only projects actually supported by research at the highest level. At the moment, investors have no interest, but many understand that now is a good time to buy.

Pros
  • Of its many innovations, Cardano is the first blockchain to use a provably secure, proof of stake algorithm - the only one to have been academically peer reviewed by leading cryptographers through its acceptance to Crypto 2017, the world’s most prestigious cryptography conference. It was even covered in Forbes.
Cons
  • It's an experiment. Nobody knows what exactly gonna happen when IOHK steps-down (if ever). The whole thing is an experiment of the on-chain liquid democracy. A lot possible ways to go wrong in here.

The technology underpinning Cardano’s ADA token was designed by leading experts, academics and cryptographers over the last two years, drawing on the best features of existing cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ripple and Ethereum. Crucially, it is the first blockchain to use a provably secure, proof-of-stake algorithm – the only one to have been academically peer reviewed by leading cryptographers through its acceptance to Crypto 2017, the world’s top cryptography conference.

Pros
  • Cardano\ADA is proof of stake crypto currency only. This means there is no more environmentally damaging waste of massive amounts of electricity required to sustain it. There is no mining. Also there will no trust damaging hard forks.
Cons
  • In comparison to its competitors such as ETH, IOTA, NEO, and WAVES, ADA is seriously lacking in terms of framework.

I see this project very promising It moves thru the education channels and its the best channels for high quality products like this Also so many people involved in this, so it also spreads thru this people.. It will be studied and spread around the world faster than using strong marketing

Pros
  • Cardano has also been written from scratch in Haskell. It allows the use of a high assurance technique called formal verification. This produces evidence that code is correct and could have helped safeguard against the flaws that lead to the DAO hack.
Cons
  • there are no tangible developments in place. At this point in time, the coin is simply vaporware.

But my concern is that it's gonna greatly restrict the amount of people that could support and extend the platform in the feature.

Pros
  • The project has been built from scratch by great minds making it evolves day by day. Cardano is the first project to be peer-reviewed by people with excellent academic profiles. However, the Proof of Stake algorithm chosen for Cardano is both an advantage and a disadvantage.. It will be studied and spread around the world faster than using strong marketing.
Cons
  • According to Hoskinson, as a result of Haskell is comparable to mathematics in its approach, code will be written additional precisely, leading to a safer and reliable protocol. Many speculators suggest that a pump is in place to artificially inflate this coin’s market cap. The platform has been taking a long time to be completed making the community uncertain about the possibility of this project.

Cardano’s PoS, Ouroboros stands out as the first proof of stake algorithm that is provably secure, meaning that it offers security guarantees that are mathematically proven. Ouroboros is also the first cryptographic protocol to be peer reviewed at the world's top cryptography conference, Crypto 2017.

Pros
  • The Haskell application programming framework will greatly simplify the creation of mobile apps for use with Cardano. IOHK the parent company of Cardano is also the developer of Ethereum Classic.
Cons

Cardano is a full blockchain, engineered from scratch within the practical programing language Haskell. IOHK employed philip Wadler, a principal designer of the Haskell language to figure on the Cardano project. According to Hoskinson, as a result of Haskell is comparable to mathematics in its approach, code will be written additional precisely, leading to a safer and reliable protocol.

Pros
  • Cardano is being built by IOHK, who are an extraordinary technology company. They have brought together an international team of leading experts, academics and cryptographers to build Cardano over the the past two years, inspired by the best features of existing cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ripple and Ethereum. This are many articles in the mainstream media that support this.
Cons
  • Gradual decentralisation. It's a con for some people. For now - I like it. IOHK don't rush to throw it into people in a half-developed way. Like, Shelley is gonna be released throughout Q2 and Q3. I reckong kinda the same thing gonna happen in 2020 when IOHK steps-down (if not voted to continue development). But my concern here is that people will just get used to it (like with EF kinda way) and IOHK gonna be life-time "Owner" of Cardano, with biggest pool, and biggest treasury vote, and biggest say in everything. Or some other company will just overtake it after 2020 and actually recode for its own benefit.

It addresses the necessity for restrictive oversight while maintaining client privacy and protections through an innovative superimposed design. The first layer is for recording transactions and the second is for deploying smart contracts. The way they separate their layer into 2 different layers helps them solve problems independently. - The project has been built from scratch by great minds making it evolves day by day. Cardano is the first project to be peer-reviewed by people with excellent

Pros
  • This is similar to the communications protocol for the Internet, which uses several layers including an Internet layer for routing data to the appropriate destination, and an application layer for defining the protocols used to exchange the data, that’s the reminder that Cardano will take time to develop, it is a long-term investment at this point.
Cons
  • How stable is the Cardano algorithm to the attacks of a quantum computer? The progress is bit lower than that of the potential of the project, it is just taking its own time for the vision it attracted everyone.

Cardano features a democratic governance model which will let the project evolve, and a visionary treasury system to fund it sustainably.

Pros
  • ADA users have similar privacy protections to bitcoin once transacting on the CSL, at a lot of larger speed and transactional capability as a result of its PoS rule.
Cons
  • Their team is packed with academicians and scholars. Anyone remember Long-Term Capital Management?

I see this project very promising It moves thru the education channels and its the best channels for high quality products like this Also so many people involved in this, so it also spreads thru this people.. It will be studied and spread around the world faster than using strong marketing

Pros
  • Cardano ADA will have a transaction transparency regulatory compliance mode to meet the needs of government agencies and financial institutions if enabled for the transaction.
Cons
  • Mostly what you'll find is worries about POS vs POW and questions if Cardano is going too slow in the name of academia and trying to be too precise in their protocol.

Pros
  • Bitcoin’s energy-consumptive Proof of work accord mechanism has been replaced with the primary incontrovertibly secure Proof of Stake (PoS) rule, engineered specifically for Cardano.
Cons
  • none of the planned features are currently in place

Cardano’s PoS, Ouroboros stands out as the first proof of stake algorithm that is provably secure, meaning that it offers security guarantees that are mathematically proven. Ouroboros is also the first cryptographic protocol to be peer reviewed at the world's top cryptography conference, Crypto 2017.

The Cardano project may be a next generation blockchain, making a brand new localized economy, and democratising finance in rising markets.

Pros
  • The Cardano settlement layer (CSL) stores and accounts for price, and may be a standalone blockchain with a token known as ADA. It’s what Bitcoin would seem like if it were engineered from scratch nowadays.
Cons
  • none of the planned features are currently in place

Cardano is the first blockchain platform which is created for a scientific purpose and I'm sure that it will change the way cryptocurrencies are created.

Pros
  • Fully open source, written from scratch, over 30 developers, smart contracts that can handle enterprise level usage, Proof of Stake and much more.Presented campaign includes many features that were not experienced by any of the platforms earlier. Being fully open source enables to attract many investors towards the project.
Cons
  • Due to complicate scientific philosophy, the average person finds the concept of the project to be far complicated. The progress is bit lower than that of the potential of the project

Cardano reached out to say “The code auditing was done by both RPI Sec and Also Grimm. I’m sure that if you contact them they can verify they reviewed the code and provide comment.

Pros
  • Cardano features a democratic governance model which will let the project evolve, and a visionary treasury system to fund it sustainably.
Cons
  • Now there are a lot of rumors about Cardano, Litecoin and Ethereum and I think that you need to be very careful with this news, because half of them are FUD.
