First time using whetstone

This is my first time using a Henckel Four Star kitchen knife sharpening stone. I followed a simple tutorial on YouTube, took my time and it was pretty easy. I was recommended to buy a 1000/6000 block as that is usually the only stone people need for sharpening knives at home. 5/6 of my knives were sharpened perfectly. The sixth chef's knife didn't take the blade. I've tried everything. It turned out to be so far away that I needed a lower (coarser) whetstone to fix this blade. Overall I am very pleased with this $20 brick. This saved me a lot of money on shipping my sharpening knives.
