Design flaw if sound is important to you

I received my hub today and was happy to tidy up my cable bundle and streamline my workflow. The device itself looks good and has a lot of variety and customization. I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro with 4 USB C ports. As peripherals, I have 1 USB 2.0 hard drive, 2 USB 3.0 hard drives, 1 HDMI monitor, 1 USB license key, 1 USB 3.0 control panel, 1 Thunderbolt audio interface and a Mac audio out for external speakers. Unfortunately, there's one major design flaw that makes me return the hub: Because the audio jack is on the USB-C pass-through end of the hub to power the computer, this creates a slight hum and buzz in the speaker feed. When connected directly to a MacBook, the sound transmission is silent. Any time performance and sound are too close together, there's a real risk. In this case it is functional, but not if the original sound is important to you. Unplugging the power cord from the hub and plugging it directly into the MacBook reduces the noise but doesn't eliminate it. Another minor improvement would be to extend the USB-C cable to turn it into a permanent docking station. However, you can't hide the dock behind your computer if you're using all of its inputs. Another 3 inches or so on the cord and you're good to go.
