First of all it is a good filament with a nice finish. BUT. What you need to understand is that it is neither stronger nor lighter than other PLAs. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and it's plain PLA with filaments embedded in it. I suppose it could be stiffer, but as the fibers tend to lay flat when extruded it doesn't offer the best layer strength or much, but PLA still has good layer adhesion. If it were stronger, it could be printed with thinner walls and less infill, making it lighter. So no, it's not lighter than other PLAs. One reviewer said it was very durable while another said it was lightweight. I saw a video of an Olympic shooter handing a stock to a gunsmith who demonstrates how to wrap a wooden stock in carbon fiber. Later, when he handed it to her, her eyes widened at how "light" it was. He timidly informed her that if anything, he was a little heavier, but undoubtedly tougher. strong I think it's more psychological than anything else. Maybe a little lighter and stronger than some PLA, but no stronger than any petG or ABS. I was planning to buy carbon reinforced nylon as nylon is strong but not stiff, it will increase stiffness which does this trick I happened to get. I like the dark gray with the slight sheen it gives me. I would recommend it but just know what you are getting and don't expect too much. Several photos are included, three of them under the microscope, I couldn't take better photos with my phone but you can see the fibers if you look closely. UPDATE: I just got to the end of the video, really want to like it. It's not much stiffer than any other PLA, but the slight increase in stiffness also makes it brittle, making it inferior to regular PLA. Layer adhesion was a little worse than other PLAs I've tried. After lots of adjustments and comparisons, I've come to the conclusion that it's just not worth the price. Print out the comparison samples and see for yourself. The matte dark gray finish is the only thing I like.
