Review on 💯 Gates 31839 OE Equivalent Fuel Tank Cap - Top-Quality, Secure Seal by David Fields

UPDATE 01/12/2020 A little over 2 years later I have to replace this gas cap for the same reason. In this case I decided to buy a real OEM. I've tried several ways to ensure a good seal, but to no avail. Was still having issues with CEL until the new restriction this month. Replacing this cover eliminated the bugs. So I downgraded the rating to 2 stars. Since all of the lights on my 4Runner's dashboard started flashing at the same time, a quick investigation revealed that the gas cap was probably not closing properly. After the gas cap has been removed and reinstalled hundreds of times over the past 11 years, it's probably time to replace it. It took a few refills before the lights went out, but that seems to have helped. It doesn't look as solid as an OEM part, but it certainly doesn't matter if it does its job well.
