I'm sorry :( I have the same filter for my nano 3 gallon, same brand and same style. I think it's even on? It always works smooth and perfect and does a great job keeping the water clean. I expected the same expectations from it. However, I have my aquariums in my room and the noise really sucks (for lack of better words). If you have an aquarium in Have your room or office, This filter can be too loud Again I have this 10 gallon filter in my bedroom and I can tolerate it and sleep well with it but I still wish it was quieter I know it is sometimes is an accident!In most cases, make an educated guess Some filters get thrown around during shipping, making some awkward noise, and it's not really d he fault of the filter, but a mechanism inside that moves and moves making it noisy when it shouldn't be. Still a good filter. Adjustable flow, clean, smooth, not bulky. I might switch to a different filter in the future, but that won't work.
