The pan is very big!

I love the look and quality of this pan! That's a lot better than a frying pan from the discount store. I seem to wear out certain pan sizes (like skillets and small saucepans) because I use them so often that I seem to have all sorts of little things left that I just pick up when I need a certain size. I've never had a pan like this so I really like it. The size of a Dutch Oven is often too deep and a normal pan is not deep enough for certain things. I have a wok pan but it doesn't have enough bottom surface for some things. This is something between a frying pan and a brazier. Very pretty. It has these little round marks on the inside that are good for really scalding stuff. However, they make the surface slightly less nonstick than a smooth nonstick pan. I still have a large skillet for things like eggs (husband likes eggs that are too light, so I need a nice, smooth, non-stick surface for these. I'm not that experienced with cast iron or anything!) but Bei most dishes have some burning and then usually some liquid so this works well. The pan is heavy, but not like LeCruset or other cast irons. This material is very difficult to lift. It just looks like a better frying pan. The lid is also very good as it is glass and has a nice big handle. My favorite so far has been using it for bolognese sauce or making a large pot of chopped boneless chicken for nachos. I'm very happy to use it to make Mirapois for Thanksgiving filling. I usually use two pans because small chunks of veggies seem to fall out of one and won't brown properly in that pan. It's nice and deep, but still has a lot of surface area. It came with a very nice metal spoon but I'm afraid it might scratch the non-stick coating so I'm planning on using that instead of a serving spoon. All in all a great pan!
