NOT easy. NOT easy, even for an intermediate seamstress who knows how to do just about anything sewing and embroidery related. NOT made in the traditional way of embroidery. DO NOT BUY! Terrible, confusing way to teach my 8 year old granddaughter to sew and embroider. I would send the mess back but have already opened it. Also, there are several designs, but only one cheap plastic hoop. Definitely not worth the price. So we didn't take it with us on vacation (my original idea was to use it as a learning tool during our 13 hour trip). When we got home I took the nitrogen instead and made my own. Since then, my granddaughter has learned 6 basic embroidery stitches. Problem solved!
