Great welcome for the price!

It took me some time to figure out which air intake to buy for my '08 Civic Si. As with the K20Z3 engine, the manifold is located on the firewall. Short intake filters for this engine are also located here. Many people claim that overheating/flooding occurs when your car is idling for a while. Cold air intakes are more ideal, but require more effort and modifications to install. But I don't track my car or races. So I decided for DD to buy this DC Sports SRI5524. I actually had a DC SPORTS SRI5525 on my '08 non-Si. The intake manifold is positioned differently (typical Honda intake manifold on the firewall and manifold on the radiator) and the only complaint about it was that the filter was rubbing on the battery. It worked great for the whole year I had it. When I got this receipt I knew what to expect as I already had one for my Civic LX. Installation took about 15 minutes to remove the stock air intake, another 15 minutes to remove the stock hoses and about 15 minutes to install this air intake. Insert the hose quickly to avoid coolant loss. The supplied hose connects to another line (previously there were two separate ones at the stick inlet). After I'm done I connected the battery and started the car with no problems, no CEL (check engine lights) and let it idle for 10 minutes. I turned the car off and restarted it. I got the car running. and immediately noticed that my gas pedal became a bit harder/more sensitive. The outside temperature was about 75 degrees (the sun had set). So I can't say anything about the insulation. The intake noise is now about 5 times louder than the OEM plastic intake box. When the car turns on i-VTEC, it sounds great! I like the way this approach sounds. This is the only mod I have in my car related to "performance". I definitely recommend this entry if you only use your machine for DD. For racing or trekking. Yes, a cold air intake would definitely be the best choice. Note * This air intake is definitely not polished! This is normal, however, as this intake pipe is colored to match the factory intake manifold cover (silver).
