The polyester material in this filter is lightly pleated making it stiff. The pleats are also very evenly spaced around the perimeter and deform only slightly when inserted into the case and tightened. The manufacturer states that the material is resistant to bacteria and chemicals in the temperature range from 40° to 125°. It has a long service life, high flow rate and can be washed and reused. I am very satisfied with this filter protected by a plastic case. Quality product, bravo Hydronix!
