So take it straight out of the box and plug it straight into a USB port, no problem. and my computer immediately picked it up and downloaded the software needed to run it. It made an odd noise when it first started up, but I put it on a shelf to make sure it was flat, opened it up, and then tried again. And then it worked smoothly and it was like an old computer that only had one. It sounded like it. I compiled my program, it works fine. And since I didn't have it on my computer, I have it now, so I think it's a good replacement.
