I've read reviews complaining about the handles falling off and it says right on the packaging that the handles are supposed to be removable - I suggest you tape them on if you don't want them to come loose. I've also read reviews complaining that the buckles are difficult to open and I wonder if people try to pull straight on the latch to disconnect it from the spool - the buckle is designed to to do this for you when it is fully open. The buckle locks when fully closed and unlocks when fully open, a really clever design, but due to the lack of written instructions, this may not be obvious to all users. Hope that helps.
