Review on Flushmount Drill Bit 9 16 by Robert Blair

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Perhaps a harder wood would have given better results.

Quality tool but difficult to control countersink depth. Also, the pilot hole for the screw needs to be perfectly perpendicular to the part being assembled, otherwise the caps that cover the screw heads will snap protruding from the work piece at one end and sinking below the surface of the work piece at the opposite end. I have used this system to mount some mahogany overlays. I have drilled the holes with a power drill and still could not get a consistent depth of the countersunk holes. Some The countersunk holes were found to be too deep causing the trim plug to be noticeably below the trim surface when installed.Perhaps a harder species of wood would have yielded.

Pros
  • 1/8" Adjustable Guide Nozzle
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
