Review on 🔁 Google Wifi AC1200 Mesh WiFi System - Router for 4500 Sq Ft Coverage - 3 Pack by Jessie Perry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As an IT professional with over 40 years of experience, I have to say I'm impressed.

I have been an IT professional for over 40 years, now retired but still my family's IT professional. During that time, I had to set up many different routers to bring Internet service to my home, often running multiple Alexa devices, Internet TV, and multiple PCs at the same time. We have a large home of over 4,500 square feet. with two floors and basement. Our basement has 3 large rooms with concrete walls that created blind spots in most parts of the basement. The internet on the second floor works, but often you have to reconnect devices to establish a new connection. I've tried several internet extenders and hotspots, mostly working sporadically. Having to constantly reconnect and reconnect them was annoying and I eventually gave up on them. I found out about the Google Mesh WIFI system and decided to check it out. I discussed a more expensive system where the devices included speakers and voice, but decided on this one as we have so many Alexa devices in the home. Another consideration was the cost of the upgraded system as 3 units cost 2 1/2 times more. If you have multiple Google devices, it may be worth the extra cost. All I wanted was a reliable WIFI system that would provide Wi-Fi throughout the house with no dead spots. I'm so glad I chose this wifi system. After downloading and installing the Google Home app, it only took me 15 minutes to set up the system and at least 10 of those minutes were used to find the best locations for satellite devices. The app really does everything. There was no ISP setup - it was so easy that anyone could set up this system without even knowing how to set up a router. No need to fiddle with your internet connection with router software - it's all included in the app. Simply connect a device to the ethernet cable you would connect to your router and scan the QR code on the device with your phone. After connecting the router, plug in the satellite devices and select + in the top left of the screen in the app to add each satellite. I found that I had to wait for the light on the new device to stop blinking and boot up before connecting. Once all devices are connected, you can review the connections of each one and move devices around to ensure the best connection to all. Since the Google Home app is also used on the updated system, there are many options that don't apply to this system. So far I am very satisfied with this WLAN system. Now we have fast internet in every corner of our house, even in every room in the basement. I also tested this system by taking one of my tablets to the far end of our patio, 60 feet from the router. I was still able to stream Netflix videos with no lag. I should also mention that with this system and router, you don't have a choice between 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections. The system will automatically use the 5GHz connection unless the device is too far away. Then it will automatically switch to the 2.4 GHz connection. Knowing this is useful when you first need to connect a device that only uses 2.4 GHz. You just have to move far enough away from the router for it to switch to the 2.4 GHz band. After the first connection, the device will automatically connect to the 2.4 GHz band. When connecting to a computer, you don't have to choose bandwidth, just the name of your network. I am very satisfied with this WLAN system and can only recommend it. For the first time in many years we have internet access in every corner of our house and in our extensive outdoor area. Setup was incredibly easy - way easier than setting up a router. Also, the WiFi signal is much better than ever when tested with internet speed tests. Although we paid for 10Mbps downloads, before installing this system our speed was 4-5Mbps. According to speed tests, we now get a stable 7-9 Mbit/s. We watch Internet TV and don't have time to buffer programs. Also, the TV doesn't turn off when we use the microwave. To date, we have not had to restart any of the devices on any of the 3 floors of our home to get a WiFi signal. UPDATE 08/10/21: We've been using this system for over 2 months and getting -date didn't require reloading any of the 3 modules. When watching TV (all internet apps) there was no buffering even when we use the microwave. The only minor issue I had was setting the device to only connect to a 2.4GHz connection. Most peripherals now use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so this isn't usually an issue. I was able to connect this device using the above method. At the moment I'm delighted with the performance of this system. Being a techie at home means fewer problems and hassles for me. I hope this review was helpful to you. I will update this review if my opinion changes.
