Fantastic streaming speed

I did a little research before purchasing and found that this would save me a drastic increase in my internet speed which is currently around 200mbps. After sharing my Verizon Fios IP, connecting to the Google Mesh system was easy and took about 5-10 minutes. Just make sure to download the Google Home app on your phone before sharing an IP and it will walk you through the steps easily. We have been working for 2 days, so far everything is fine. Our Roku streaming devices are much sharper andโ€ฆ

Great upgrade for a big house

Great for a big house. I had all sorts of unstable connections or disconnections in my house. I ended up buying another mesh system that I found for sale here and it worked, but my connections still weren't as fast as they should be. Apparently it didn't always connect to a 5G signal, even when I was 10 feet from the node. I sent it back and bought this 3 pack system. That works every time. I was even able to connect two of them together to get a backhaul that helps me maintain the fastestโ€ฆ

Please don't even think about buying them.

I moved to a three story townhouse and decided I could actually use the mesh network. The living room had a main router, but my office needed hardlink speeds, so I bought this Google Wi-Fi to use the mesh network and extract the hardline from one of the pucks. At first everything was fine. Over the course of 4 weeks I noticed intermittent disconnects. I thought it was the entire WiFi network, but it's just a mesh network, and because I was locked into the puck, I had frequent disconnects. Andโ€ฆ

Installation nightmare: computers and accessories

Installation instructions via the Google Home app are extremely inadequate. For example, the meaning of different colored lights and different light pulse rates is important, but won't be explained until you go down the rabbit hole of blog-like support sites. To make matters worse, you have to dig through support blogs to find out how and when to connect Wi-Fi points (via Ethernet), and even then you get conflicting information. TERRIBLE ! Stay away!

I don't normally do this, but I'm taking the time to write this review to show how Google wants to take over our lives! First, I'm a Computer Engineer and CCNA CCNP MCP MCSE MCSA A+ NETWORK+ former college professor and holder of many other certifications and awards. This isn't about me, I'm just trying to prove that I'm not a regular user. After a few recent updates that Google released overnight WITHOUT my approval, we found that the speed dropped dramatically. As an IT professional with over 40 years of experience, I have to say I'm impressed.

I have been an IT professional for over 40 years, now retired but still my family's IT professional. During that time, I had to set up many different routers to bring Internet service to my home, often running multiple Alexa devices, Internet TV, and multiple PCs at the same time. We have a large home of over 4,500 square feet. with two floors and basement. Our basement has 3 large rooms with concrete walls that created blind spots in most parts of the basement.
