Chunky Chenille Yarn Bulky Extreme Arm Knit Blanket Thick Polyester is really very thick, soft and fluffy. You will need very large needles {I used a size 50, the largest I have} or you can learn the hand knitting process to use the yarn. 16 ounces of yarn is two skeins of 24 yards each for a total of 48 yards. The length of the meter is not specified. The yarn is a bit fragile. I pulled on the end of the thread and part of it broke in my hand. There are scraps along the thread as I also knitted. I wouldn't recommend this for something that gets heavy use. Update: There was a knot in the middle of one of the balls of yarn. The ball was only 24 meters long, and yet it had a knot. There were very short ends on each side of the knot so I'm concerned they might snap and take the knot with them and unravel the rope itself. This cat blanket can only be hand washed.
