I'm a grown adult female, 5'4", 150 lbs. I bought a size L. I bought these pads because I'm taking skating lessons and I'm a complete beginner so I expect to have a few Will fall once. Pads feel solid and seem to do what they are supposed to do. Wrist guards are a bit big for me but I have very small wrists so should fit a medium wrist. Elbow guards fit me fine. Someone who is slightly taller than me could wear them.The knee pads were too tight over the jeans when I was trying to get my leg through the sleeve so I just put a pad over the jeans and wrapped the straps around.The knee pads are still pretty tight (I can barely pull the top strap far enough to velcro it up) but I have chunky hips so if you have slimmer legs you'll be fine.
