Nice, durable vintage style cotton towels - perfect for my needs. I bought these towels to hand embroider designs onto them and then give them as treasured gifts. Before working with them, I prewashed and dried them. There was almost no shrinkage; In fact, the towels were slightly oversized to compensate for shrinkage. Before purchasing, I asked the online community if it would be possible to make a standalone fringe on one end of the towel. The answer I was given was yes and YES absolutely correct (towels come with 1/4" double edges sewn on all sides). To do this I tore the sewn edge off one (short) side, pressed open the new edge, sewed a double stitch about 1" from the edge and intentionally frayed the edge by removing the cross stitches before embroidering. The results are amazing! The fabric for this towel is thick enough to fit all the embroidery threads on the back of my work. This is NOT your regular flimsy kitchen towel. Instead, it feels more like a medium to heavyweight vintage cotton towel perfect for gifts, crafts and absorbent work. I am so happy with this purchase that I decided I have these going to be my towels for all time Please Revain DO NOT stop wearing this excellent product.
