This article solved our problem with sliding glass doors. The space between the metal track and the sliding door was a bit tight to allow the item to fit in easily, but I was still able to get it in and knew it would happen when I ordered the item. When I tried to move the door with the element installed, the narrowness made it difficult for the door to slide when I wanted to. So I removed the whole thing and instead glued on a small piece large enough to address the metal-to-metal contact point. So instead of using 3 feet of product I used 1/2 inch by 1 inch. The door worked great. It is very pleasant to open and close the door, so smooth, so quiet. We actually open and close the door just to marvel at how something that used to be annoying is now pleasant. I am keeping the unused reel for future projects but am very happy with this item. GOOD PRODUCT! LOVE IT!
