I bought it for work. I cut my hand the first time I used it. Also, the cover came off exposing the wires. In terms of functionality, the Ethernet port was not working. Needless to say I wanted to return the item. However, the seller offered to send me a new unit before I screwed up the return. I'm committed and couldn't be happier. Either the first one missed quality control, or it was just a return to someone. The second also had sharp edges, but otherwise there were no problems. The caps fit well and don't seem to come loose at all. USB works at speed 3.0. The ethernet port doesn't quite support 1000 speed, but it definitely works at 10/100 speed on my laptop without an ethernet port. I haven't tested this on my phone. I've heard some customers have asked to use this on their mobile phones and I can't speak to that. I've only used this on a laptop and for the price I'm very happy with it. FYI, this is a plug and play device. I didn't have to download or install any drivers. About 5 minutes after connecting, Windows 10 automatically found and installed the required drivers and I was up and running.
