. and adapters) feeling it would be a good tool at an affordable price

I bought this 3/8" ratchet and other Tekton tools (heads and adapters) feeling it would be a good cheap tool. Two thirds of my order was like this. Ratchet a bit let down. Don't get me wrong it has a lot of potential, it's just that I received mine and it was broken or defective. The shift mechanism on the back of the Ratchet would not stay engaged and would also occasionally jam the ratchet Upon closer inspection I found that the torx head screw holding the lever in place spins freely as if broken inside Curiosity got the best of me, and after After emailing Tekton support how they were going to deal with this "warranty claim" I disassembled the ratchet and found that the Mec mechanism that the torx screw fits into is broken. This explains why it gets blocked and shuts down randomly. The contact piece inside floats and connects the gears. (see photos) I'm in the automotive business now so I know nobody's perfect and mistakes happen. That's why I know Tekton will get it right and if not I'll just buy a new ratchet as they are pretty affordable. I'm 90% happy with Tekton as a company, I'm just lucky I picked a lemon from the lot. I will update if the status of my ratchet warranty claim changes. Just something to check if you're buying one of these ratchets. Gave it 4 stars out of 5 just because it broke, but most of the other Tekton tools I got were fine and worked surprisingly well.
