Review on Enhance Transmission Performance with Beck Arnley 044-8001 Spin On Automatic Transmission Filter by Sean Webb

Had to change the transmission oil at the local shop. Amazed that the filter wasn't changed. While researching this, I found that Subaru doesn't have a recommended change interval for this filter, so the store was technically correct not to replace it; However, since I had 140,000 miles, I decided to change the filter. This filter is easier to replace than the oil filter. Since removing this filter removes some liquid, after removing the filter I weighed it and compared it to a new filter. The old "wet" filter was about 6 ounces heavier than the new dry filter, so I added 6 ounces of AT fluid to compensate. I don't know if it was necessary, but according to Subaru, a filter change wasn't necessary. ----> This is not a substitute for regular automatic transmission fluid changes.
