This device is easy to use. I recommend watching the video to make sure you're using it correctly for accurate results. I was surprised at how loose my belt was after measuring the tension with this Krikit tester. It measured less than 1/3 of the voltage it should have been. The reason I bought this tester is because I couldn't get the belt to stop squeaking. This belt runs from the crankshaft pulley to the alternator and water pump. I replaced the alternator, checked the water pump, and rewound some straps to try and stop the noise. What I thought was close enough wasn't even close. I'm a trained mechanic, but this left me at a loss. Proper belt tension eventually helped stop the squeaking noise when starting.
