This kit consists of three carbide inserts intended to be direct replacements for the full-sized Easy Turn wood turning tools and copies of those tools, like the Simple tools. I have an Easy Turn rougher and a pair of their Easy Start tools, and I can verify that the roughing insert in this kit does appear to be a perfect fit for the Easy Turn rougher. The price seems right, too, with a set of three costing close to what Easy asks for one tool. The problem, though, is that it’s impossible to know whether these inserts will work as well as the factory inserts over time, and whether they’ll last as long. Easy Wood Turning says that they use a special carbide mix produced in-house, and of course there’s no way for the average woodworker to be able to test these inserts and see if they’re the same as the Easy Turn ones. They do appear to work, so if you’re willing to take a chance, they may well be a good deal.
