Review on 🔧 Dayco 89314 Automatic Tensioner Assembly: Enhanced Performance and Reliability by Jake Hillyer

looks identical to the original

So far so good. I replaced it and a separate "ACDelco 36239" idler pulley on my 2006 Mazda6 (V6) a few weeks ago and it stopped the squeaky noise I heard in that area when the temperature was cool. This Dayco tensioner appears identical to the OEM except that the "Ford" logo has been removed. Despite being the same part, the new one took a lot more effort to put the strap back on. This may indicate that the original part spring has become slightly weaker, which could lead to slippage and thus noise in the morning when the cold belt had less friction on the smooth tensioner pulley. FYI I'm an ordinary house. Mechanic and I found these items quite difficult to replace due to limited access. The part looks good, albeit much cheaper than at the dealer.

Pros
  • Belts, hoses and pulleys
Cons
  • Volume
