In terms of design and build quality, this Monster USB hub is virtually indistinguishable from the regular USB-C hubs I own. It has an aluminum body and a short, rigid cable with a USB-C connector on the end. The cable has a rubber coating that is sometimes found on high-end electronics cables, but I'm not a big fan of that material. It's like a coating that gets sticky over time and tends to attract more dust. The cable is fairly short so it's easy to carry, but I store my laptop on a laptop stand so the hub hangs from the back. My computer. I was surprised that I could disable this hub. I have a Logitech G935 wireless headphone dongle, a pair of USB powered 80mm fans, and an ADATA SU800 SSD in a USB enclosure, all plugged into a hub. I haven't noticed any disconnects or crashes while using these devices, which is definitely an improvement over the regular hubs I have. I ran a quick CrystalDiskMark performance test of the SU800 through a hub and connected directly to see no difference in performance. I've run benchmarks a few times and found that the numbers can vary by 5-10%. With that in mind, the performance through a monster hub is almost identical to the performance you would plug directly into a computer. Overall I am very satisfied with this center. I think this could be improved with a detachable cord or a cord that could be hidden or folded for storage. I'm not a big fan of cable cover, but that's not a problem for me. The hub's performance seems good and I was able to connect multiple devices to it at the same time.
