I have a Genie Pro 98. Very old. The sensors no longer functioned reliably. These replacement devices worked great. My Genie Pro 98 has a two wire cable that runs from the garage motor on the ceiling to one of the old sensors in the black square box. And then the second two-wire cable that goes from one of the rectangular sensors to the other rectangular sensor. All ends end in pigtail ends (see attached photo of my old sensor with two pigtail wires attached to it). The replacement instructions say there are two wires coming from the motor, one to each sensor. I didn't have it as described, but it still worked great. To make these substitutions work I did the following: (1) Cut off all the ends of the braids. (2) Connected wire from the garage motor to one of the spare sensors. The new sensor has threaded connections. Put a strand of wire under each screw connector (do not twist two strands of the same wire and do not put them both under the same screw, they must go under different screws). Then connect the second wire that connects the two sensors together to the first sensor and then to the second sensor on the other side of the garage. Here, too, one strand runs under each screw connection (do not twist two strands from the same strand together). This way you have two strands of wire under each screw connector on one of the sensors (the wire coming from the motor and the wire going to the second sensor; see my second picture).
