These suction cups are covered in sticky glue. If you're looking for a semi-permanent setup, this will work just fine. The adhesive is so strong/tacky that it is very difficult to remove the suction cup even with suction turned off. I bought these to attach to a surfboard which is quite brittle and I'm concerned that the sticky substance might actually cause delamination. THIS MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. A typical suction cup should be a simple rubber/silicone that can be easily attached and detached. The picture shows how sticky it is after soaking in 409 Cleaner overnight and then wiping with a paper towel.
