Wow! I moved my home office to the basement and have WiFi here, but I had concerns about the signal strength for my workload when using a lot of internet and LAN traffic. With WiFi, I got 90 Mbps, but that number varied greatly. I had my doubts as to whether this would offer gigabit speeds on my Retina Macbook Pro over USB. He arrived a few minutes ago. I plugged it in and plugged in a Cat5e cable and tested the speed across my LAN and I'm transmitting at 900Mbps, give or take. The same applies when I use one of the USB ports to charge my iPhone. I cannot be happier with this purchase.
