Review on 💻 Lenovo USB 2.0 Port Replicator with Digital Video (0A33942): Simplify Connectivity and Boost Productivity by Dee Rawls

I had problems with this port replicator from the start. I have a Lenovo Ideapad and this was the recommended port replicator as there is no dock in the Ideapad range. The driver software was not installed completely, resulting in a Windows Blue Screen of Death. I've tried several times to uninstall a piece that was installed via the Control Panel and software that wasn't fully installed wasn't removed as it never fully installed. I suspect this is a known issue for Display Link as a removal tool was available on their website to fix the issue. So I decided to just use the device as a USB hub and speaker output. I owned it for three weeks, every time I booted up my laptop it wanted to install this horrible software. With regular use, this resulted in mouse freezes, crackling laptop audio, and random shutdowns at least once a day. I was only able to reset the device by restarting my laptop. Maybe I had a bad block. I will never know because I will not replace this device with another. Instead, I use a $30 powered USB hub.
