Really loved it, but. The VD6504 Non-Contact Voltage Detector is overly sensitive and will respond within 5 inches of an AC power source. Because of this, it is impossible to determine which wire is hot. In the first picture you can see it's 5 inches from the outlet/cord, in the second it's 1 foot from the coffee maker (the outlet is on the back)! How to determine if the power source is in the coffee maker, coffee grinder, outlet, or lamp in the closet? A friend of mine loaned me a FLUKE detector and it was so accurate that you could plug it into an outlet and see which wire was hot. Return this Revain immediately and rename it.
