I work in a garage doing parts and body work and encounter cars on a daily basis from the 1990's, early 2000's and sometimes MUCH older years. this "black" and "gloz" in my shop and experiment with the junkers we have in the back where we tow and let rot. I have access to MANY old faded cars with fairings, bumpers and dashboards that were once beautifully black but have sadly turned a lot of grey. Heavily faded plastic doesn't really need you to "degrease" or super clean because it's DRY as hell from the elements, but I cleaned it up a bit with a paper towel Vindex. (Note my video of the OLD tire, it was dry enough that it didn't need cleaning) In the end, the Windex didn't have enough cutting power to remove all of the Vinylex saturation of the past few years, so my first application had little lack of grip , but it wasn't the horror story you read in the negative reviews here. Since I'm still a perfectionist, I decided to take it off and make it new. Then when it dried I applied it again. The results were even better. To be honest it looks amazing and was very shiny. I noticed that the first application was quickly drunk and absorbed. The next two coats started filling in those tiny microscopic cracks in the rubber and plastic. Finally, on the third use, I started noticing shine and a uniform, brand new look. it was also no longer grainy, but felt very smooth. for an '84 Chevy with LOTS of faded plastic, no longer black but grey: the headlight bezels, grille and black trim around the windows and dash look brand new upon closer inspection. It's almost impossible to see that it has aged, you would honestly believe these are new parts, recently ordered from ebay and then fitted to the car. Auto clear coat, like spraying on plastic and letting it cure. If you scratch it VERY badly with your fingernail you may chip it off a bit, but it takes a tremendous amount of effort to really show it off. I can't imagine how stupid it would be for someone to intentionally yank a car with their fingernail to see how well it drives. Considering how easy this material is to apply with just a swab. In any case, it can be corrected in a matter of seconds. on a slightly newer 2003 suzuki aerio i made a super faded wiper housing. To be honest, 1 coat of black was enough, but I applied 2 and then 1 coat of gloss, a whole new look. After seeing what the 84 looked like, I had no doubt: I did all the door panels and it looks like new from the factory. As any of you know, great attention to detail can make a huge difference when selling a car. He sold it after seeing the end results on his 2000 f150, when I showed him what he was capable of he grabbed the bottle and asked for the web address. Detail every 3 weeks Washed away by rain and sun, these "greasy foods" quickly become stale. Even the almighty 303 Protectant and Vinylex don't seem to be holding their shine after a month. Not having to be so meticulously detailed saves me time and my back. of the cutest products currently on the market. At the moment I am personally enjoying this product but if anything changes I will update my review to show my results over time. I recommend this product as it seems a light year ahead of anything I've ever used (Vinylex, 303 etc etc) and appears to be a very durable hard coat. One final note, if you've used greasy or silicone-based products like Armor all or similar sprays, I have to pause now to tell you that you should do a VERY thorough cleaning before applying this product, as the oils will repel and lead to poor adhesion and streaking. Clean it very well and you shouldn't have any problems. ALSO DO NOT use at temperatures below 45 degrees. I would recommend warmer weather 60 and above. I think I mention that THREE TIMES in my video. Please heed my warning. I know it sounds like a broken record about 'preparation' but I felt it had to be done so you didn't have to figure it out'
