Review on πŸ”’ POP & LOCK PL8200 Power Tailgate Lock for Ford F150 and Mazda B Series: Secure Your Truck's Bed with Effortless Power by Rick Pickering

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works on 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0

Fits 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0 non-original tailgate latch with minimal modification. The mounting hole needs to be drilled out a bit. To be honest I switched to a metal handle instead of the factory plastic one. The only star I took off was for the quality of the drive. I've tried adjusting it every way I can and used some tricks like adding zipties to limit the throw, but it still didn't work. Push the release: the actuator extends and springs back halfway, still locked. Press the latch: the actuator retracts and springs back halfway, still latched. My solution was to replace it with an AAMP DS2 drive. It looks and fits the same as the Pop&Lock one. After the replacement everything worked perfectly. The new drive does not jump.* I am installing Advance MECP and have experience installing this type of device.
